Paul Cook

Founder and Chairman of the Board

A renowned business and technology leader for more than 50 years, Cook has demonstrated the ability to bring innovative technology to market throughout his career. In 1957, Cook founded Raychem Corporation, where he served as CEO for more than 33 years. During his tenure at Raychem, he led the company to membership in the Fortune 500, as well as to $1 billion in annual sales and annual company sales increases of 20 percent per year for 25 years. After retiring from Raychem, Cook founded and led other emerging innovative technology companies, including CellNet Data Systems and DIVA Systems Corporation. Cook also served as Chairman of the Board of SRI International and was Chairman of the Sarnoff Corporation (formerly RCA Labs) a wholly owned subsidiary of SRI.

Cook is one of 10 Americans awarded the National Medal of Technology in 1988 in recognition of his technical accomplishments and business leadership in the field of radiation chemistry. He is also the recipient of the Winthrop-Sears Medal from the Chemical Industry and the Golden Omega Award from the Electrical/Electronics Insulation Conference (EEIC) for important contributions to technological progress.

James Caccavo

Managing Partner and CEO of Steelpoint Capital Partners, LP

Prior to forming Steelpoint Capital Partners, Caccavo was the managing director of Moore Capital Management's Private Equity Group. Before joining Moore Capital Management, from 1997 to 1999, he was president and CEO of Tickets.com. From 1988 to 1996, Caccavo was a senior executive of Sullivan Communications, which he founded and helped build into a leading graphic arts company. He operated several business units for Sullivan, including software packaging and distribution, digital imaging, and a special effects business he founded. Caccavo began his career in finance at Merrill Lynch and GTE Corporation. He is a director of several privately held technology companies, including Boingo Wireless, PrivaSys, Printable Technologies, Wild Brain, and Workshare.

Alan Herzig

Retired Corporate Consultant

Herzig is a seasoned business executive with more than 37 years in the computer services, investment banking and venture capital industries. Until 2004, Herzig was president and CEO of SRI Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of SRI International. SRI Holdings assisted in commercializing various technologies being developed at SRI and supervised the management of SRI's portfolio assets.

Prior to joining SRI in 1994, he was president and CEO of Robert Fleming Pacific, Inc., the U.S. investment-banking arm of Robert Fleming & Co., aleading U.K.-based merchant bank. Previously, Herzig was a managing director of L.F. Rothschild Unterberg Towbin where he managed their West Coast corporate finance department.

Gary Lauder

Managing Partner, Lauder Partners LLC

Gary Lauder is the Managing Partner of Lauder Partners LLC, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm investing primarily in information technologies. He has been a venture capitalist since 1985 investing in over 60 private companies. He is also Chairman of ActiveVideo Networks, a developer of interactive television technology for cable, IPTV and other forms of internet delivery. Other directorships: Promptu, Integra5 and ShotSpotter. Investments are primarily in television/IPTV technology and WWW arenas. In the 1980's, he worked at the venture firms of Aetna, Jacobs & Ramo Technology Ventures, as well as Wolfensohn Associates. He holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania; a BS in Economics from the Wharton School; and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is the co-creator of the Aspen Institute's Socrates Society with Laura, his wife. He has had a working cable modem (usually) in his home since 1994. He is co-inventor of 9 patents, has spoken at over 70 industry forums, and, since 1992, has published several articles about the future of the cable industry...that he still stands by.

Giuseppe Staffaroni

President and CEO

A technology industry veteran with more than 25 years of European, U.S., and International experience, Staffaroni has an extensive background in marketing, product strategy, technology development, and general management. Prior to taking the lead at Promptu, Staffaroni spent nearly 15 years at LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) where he served as Executive Vice President heading LSI's Consumer Products Group, a business unit providing leading-edge solutions for the rapidly expanding consumer electronics market. In this role, he oversaw marketing, product and business development, and engineering of LSI Logic's standard products and system-on-a-chip solutions for customers in the broadband access, broadband entertainment, and wireless markets. Prior to LSI Logic, Staffaroni worked in various technology and management positions at Texas Instruments, AT&T Microelectronics, and Zeltron, a unit of Electrolux.

Guy Sucharczuk

Chairman, President and CEO, Aurora Networks

A widely respected broadband communications industry leader, Sucharczuk is well known for bringing advanced technology solutions to the market. He is a co-inventor on nine Aurora Networks patent applications. Before founding Aurora Networks, Sucharczuk was general manager of C-COR's optical products development and manufacturing facility. Sucharczuk entered the broadband communications industry as a member of the Harmonic Lightwaves, Inc., research and development staff and previously worked in the research and development departments of Avantek and Motorola.
